Cassini is exploring the Saturn system. After cruising across deep space for more than 6.5 years, the spacecraft from Earth arrived in the Saturn system in June 2004. It sailed through the planet's rings on July 1, 2004, beginning a four-year tour of the giant ringed planet and its many moons. The Huygens probe landed on the large moon Titan on January 14, 2005. Cassini will continue to explore the moons and rings of Saturn until at least July 31, 2008. |
